:)

We are a land of extremes. Extreme poverty co – exists with extreme wealth, we have the best IIM’s and yet lack of basic education in rural villages. We have fancy bathrooms in houses of the well to do people but lack basic toilet facilities in the interiors of the country. The various Devis are worshipped in our land and yet till date dowry deaths and rapes (of even minors) continue to happen. What about female foeticide and infanticide? We are faced with the nuisance of begging day in and day out as soon as we step out of our houses. We are forever hit by natural calamities and terrorist attacks on an extremely regular basis. Even more regular than the natural season’s themselves (summer, winter, rainy season.) But what we do about it. Do we have a disaster management cell in place functioning efficiently in place? How is it that the terrorists are always a several steps ahead of us?Everybody talks about the unity in Diversity that exists in India, but is it really so. What about the churches being ravaged in Orissa and Karnataka, the nuns and priests being raped and murdered? What about the persecution of Christian community. There are fundamentalists in every religion that we can think of but why penalize 90% Christians over the misdeeds of a few 10%. We have become soft targets for terrorists because they see through the shredded blanket of our so called unity. We have lost the quality of religious tolerance. What we sow is what we shall reap. We still have time to correct our mistakes and fight terrorism internally as externally. We need to be woven into each other like the threads of a fabric. Instead of just making a loud noise about being united let’s show them in action.
